My Story

Hello creatives!
I’m a local, lifelong artist with a teacher’s heart to encourage creative growth in artists of all ages. I teach Art to homeschooling families and I’m a Paint Party instructor. I teach a general overview of studio arts including (but not limited to): pencil drawing, charcoal drawing, watercolor painting, acrylic painting, and mixed media. My goal is to guide students (pre-k to adult) to find their creative outlets and to better understand their unique artistic style, all while giving them practical, one on one instruction to push them further as advancing artists.

My interest for the Arts started in grade school but unfortunately Art classes through high school seemed to be the first thing to be thought of when budget cuts were needed. After graduation I went to Suny Oneonta and loved their Arts program! It was the first time I felt truly at home in a class. While there I learned that an Artist is constantly pushing themselves to be better.

After college I went into a season of depression where I didn’t make art for years.
I didn’t feel “worthy” or “capable”. Which is completely untrue!

Everything changed when people around me started to plant seeds of encouragement in my life. It wasn’t long before I was asked to be an Art tutor for a homeschooling family. That was over five years ago and since then I’ve grown a hundred times over by learning from my many mistakes along the way.

I’m now a confident Artist who has done murals, lesson planning and public classes!

I strive to be the teacher that I needed as a younger Artist.

Let’s inspire each other!
